Renowned business mogul and philanthropist, Jubril Sanusi, has unveiled the first electric bus in Oyo State, showcasing his commitment to reducing carbon emissions. The 100-seater bus was driven from Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort in Akanran to Amuloko and Olorunsogo, marking a milestone in sustainable transportation for the region.
Sanusi's initiative extends beyond the bus itself, as he plans to transition residents of Ona Ara council involved in motorcycle and tricycle businesses to electric vehicles. Charging facilities powered by solar energy will be installed at Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solution for the community.
Speaking on the launch, Sanusi highlighted the importance of the transition to electric vehicles in light of rising petrol prices and their impact on businesses and residents. He emphasized the need for proactive measures to address these challenges, indicating his commitment to implementing green initiatives that benefit both the environment and the local economy.
