Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has vowed to take immediate action to rebuild the Saminaka-Marjire road, which was severely damaged by recent floods. The disaster cut off the road at a bridge near Saminaka town, leaving Marjire and four other agrarian communities isolated from Saminaka, the headquarters of Lere Local Government Area.
Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Malam Liman Sani Kila, who led a Flood Impact Assessment Committee to Lere LGA, Governor Sani assured the affected communities that his administration is committed to addressing their plight. He emphasized the importance of rural development and promised urgent reconstruction of the damaged road and collapsed bridge.
"We have seen the extent of the damage, and it is clear that this situation requires urgent attention," Kila stated. "The isolation of these five agrarian communities has severely impacted their commercial activities. Governor Uba Sani is dedicated to promoting the rural economy and supporting the citizens. We will brief the Governor on this situation today, and immediate action will follow."
In addition to road reconstruction, the Governor's administration will provide relief materials to the affected communities to alleviate their hardships.
Hon. Mathew Bulus Gambo, Chairman of Lere Local Government, expressed gratitude to Governor Sani for his swift response, noting that the establishment of the high-powered committee led by the Chief of Staff demonstrates the Governor's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the people.
