The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of seven suspected cultists and the recovery of firearms in the state. ASP Mansir Hassan, the command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest, stating that it is a significant blow to criminal networks in the area.
The operation, which took place on April 6 based on intelligence gathered from a reliable source, led to the apprehension of the suspects in the rocky and mountainous region of Dumbi along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway. During the raid, two pistols, a 30-litre jerrycan containing liquid believed to be blood, and a Lexus car were seized.
The state commissioner of police, Ali Audu, commended the community for their cooperation and vigilance, which contributed to the success of the operation. He reassured the public of the command’s commitment to eradicating criminal elements and ensuring the safety of residents.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who fled the scene. The command has called on anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in bringing the suspects to justice.
