Kaduna State Government Denies Hiring Negotiator for Abducted Pupils

The Kaduna State Government has refuted claims of hiring a private negotiator to secure the release of over 200 abducted primary school pupils in Kuriga Community, Chikun Council Local Government Area. In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, emphasized that no such decision had been made or considered by the state government.

Shehu condemned the report as mischievous and potentially harmful to the ongoing efforts to safely recover the kidnapped children. He urged media outlets to verify information with the state government before publication to avoid spreading misinformation.

According to the statement, the Kaduna State Government maintains a firm stance against negotiating with terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements. Shehu reiterated that hiring a private negotiator was a fabrication and not part of the government's strategy in dealing with the abduction crisis.

The government also expressed willingness to work with the media as partners in ensuring accurate reporting on security issues. Shehu emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in supporting the efforts of the government and security agencies in combating criminal activities.
