The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has sealed four hotels and recreation centers in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area, due to unpaid tax liabilities totaling N16,737,488.54 million.
The affected establishments include Kyus Hotel, Sunshine Lodge Hotel, Bayan Hotel, and Cloud-9 Lounge. The closures were enforced following a court order obtained by KADIRS, which mandated the immediate shutdown of these businesses until their tax debts are settled.
Mr. Jerry Adams, Chairman of KADIRS, led the enforcement team and emphasized that the agency is legally empowered to ensure all due taxes are collected. He noted that the revenue collected is crucial for funding state infrastructure projects, citing ongoing efforts by Governor Senator Uba despite the state’s significant debt burden.
Adams urged all taxpayers to comply with their obligations, stating that similar enforcement actions will continue across major cities in the state.
