The Kano State Government has distributed 484 laptops to Primary Healthcare Centres in all wards across the state’s 44 local government areas, advancing its efforts to digitise healthcare delivery. Governor Abba Yusuf announced the initiative during the launch of the 2nd Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health Week in Kumbotso Local Government Area on Monday.

Governor Yusuf emphasized that the computer distribution is part of a broader strategy to modernize healthcare infrastructure and enhance service delivery. Renovations have also been completed at major hospitals, including Sir Muhammadu Sanusi Hospital and Hasiya Bayero Hospital, while solar power systems were installed at the State Primary Healthcare Management Board and its zonal offices to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

As part of the administration’s focus on healthcare infrastructure, hundreds of secondary and primary facilities are set for renovation in the 2025 annual budget. These measures aim to provide equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare services across the state.

Governor Yusuf reiterated his commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes, particularly for maternal and child health. He assured residents of continued investment in reducing mortality rates and enhancing overall healthcare delivery in Kano.
