A Kano State High Court has set November 20, 2024, for the hearing of all pending applications in the ongoing bribery and misappropriation case against the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and seven others. The high-profile case, which involves allegations of bribery and the diversion of public funds worth billions of naira, also names Ganduje's wife, Hafsat Umar, and other individuals, along with three corporate entities.
During Wednesday’s proceedings, a preliminary objection from the sixth defendant was slated for hearing. However, counsel for several of the defendants, including Mr. Offiong Offiong (representing the first, second, and fourth defendants) and Mr. Taye Falola (representing the third and seventh defendants), informed the court that they had not been served the necessary documents from the plaintiff, causing them to request an adjournment.
Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu stressed the importance of proper service of legal documents and adjourned the case to November 20, when all pending applications will be heard. The case continues to attract widespread attention, given Ganduje's prominent role as the APC's National Chairman.
