Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for donating seventy truckloads of fertilizer to support agricultural activities in the state. The announcement was made during the inauguration of rural access roads in Dawakin Kudu local government area.
In a statement by the Governor’s Media and Publicity Director, Sanusi Bature, Governor Yusuf announced that President Tinubu had graciously provided 70 trucks of fertilizer to be distributed to farmers in Kano State. The Governor expressed delight in the President’s generous donation and extended heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the government and the people of Kano.
Governor Yusuf emphasized Kano's commitment to agricultural transformation by ensuring the accessibility and affordability of high-quality agricultural inputs to enhance crop production in the state. He directed the state-owned Kano Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO) to begin extensive production of fertilizer in preparation for the upcoming rainy season, with the aim of assisting smallholder farmers across the state.
Kano State is known as one of Nigeria's leading crop-producing states, blessed with vast arable land suitable for cultivating staple crops such as rice, maize, soybeans, groundnut, sesame, hibiscus, and sorghum, among others.
