The Kano State government has filed new charges against the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and his former Commissioner of Justice, Musa Lawan. The charges, filed in Kano State High Court, accuse them of conspiracy and misappropriation of public funds during Ganduje's tenure as governor from 2015 to 2023.
The charges, outlined in case No. K/143c/24, include criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds. The prosecution alleges that Ganduje and Lawan conspired to divert N240 million for personal use, abusing their official positions and causing a significant loss to the state government.

The charge sheet details that Ganduje and Lawan, acting dishonestly and without justification, diverted the funds intended for civil litigation involving Kano State staff accused by the EFCC. Instead, the money was allegedly used to secure a court order preventing the EFCC from investigating bribery and corruption allegations against Ganduje.
The prosecution plans to present four witnesses and evidence to support their claims, aiming to prove that Ganduje and Lawan misused their positions for personal gain at the expense of Kano State and its people.
