Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has initiated the distribution of assorted grains provided by the Federal Government to vulnerable members of the state. The distribution ceremony, held on Wednesday at Bulasa, Birnin Kebbi, aimed to support and alleviate poverty among the less privileged in the state.

Idris emphasized that the gesture reflects the government's commitment to supporting those in need, particularly during challenging times. He described the distribution of the assorted grains as a crucial step in ensuring that the most vulnerable receive the necessary support and assistance.

The governor expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, particularly President Bola Tinubu, for their swift response and unwavering commitment to providing relief to vulnerable members of society. He highlighted the distribution as an act of kindness and generosity by the APC-led administration, aimed at making a tangible difference in the lives of those facing hardship.

Zubaida Umar, the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, commended both the Federal Government and the Kebbi State Government for their support to the less privileged. She stated that the gesture would benefit vulnerable individuals across the state's 21 Local Government Areas.

The distribution is part of the Federal Government's efforts to cushion the food crisis in the country, with portions of the 42,000 metric tonnes of assorted grains already arriving in at least eight states. The movement of the commodities to other states is ongoing, with officials from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security overseeing the process.
