A resident of El-Rufai Estate in the Bwari Area of the Federal Capital Territory, identified as Nathaniel, was shot by kidnappers during a foiled abduction attempt early Wednesday morning. Around 2 am, a group of over 15 kidnappers invaded the estate, firing sporadically in an attempt to abduct several residents.
According to eyewitness Saliu, the kidnappers engaged in a fierce gun battle with operatives from the FCT police command and troops, lasting about 30 minutes. Although the kidnappers failed to abduct anyone, Nathaniel was shot while they attempted to take him away.
