Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's N2.2 trillion appropriation bill for 2024 has been approved by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa presided over plenary on Friday during which the budget was approved, according to a statement issued by the Speaker's chief press secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele.
“A bill for a law to authorise the issuance and appropriation of N952,430,566,998 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund for Recurrent Expenditure and N1,315,545,553,871 from Development Fund for Capital Expenditure thereby totalling a budget size of N2,267,976,120,869 for the year ending 31st December 2024 be passed into law,” the Speaker said on the floor of the House as the budget report was read a third time.
The speaker expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their dedication and cooperation in getting the Appropriations Bill passed quickly.
The speaker also directed Olalekan Onafeko, the Clerk of the House, to forward a copy of the agreed budget to Governor Sanwo-Olu for assent.
On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, Governor Sanwo-Olu gave the state House of Assembly a budget projection of N2.2 trillion for the 2024 fiscal year.
The budget was presented at the Lagos State House of Assembly's Assembly Complex in Alausa, Ikeja, and was named the "Budget of Renewal."
