Lagos Assembly to Probe Alleged Funds Mismanagement in Eti-Osa East LCDA

Senate

The Lagos State House of Assembly, through its member representing Surulere Constituency, Desmond Elliot, has announced plans to investigate allegations of misappropriation of funds against the chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, Mr. John Ogundare.

In response to a protest by some Eti-Osa LCDA residents last week, where allegations of misappropriation of N1.9bn were leveled against Ogundare, the Assembly stated that it would delve into the matter.

However, during a counter-protest by other residents and the APC Chairman in the LCDA, Adekunle Odunuga, the allegations were refuted. Odunuga stated, "We do not even know who these people are. They are definitely not residents of Eti-Osa East. Their allegations are baseless and unfounded."

Apostle Olusoji Fabule, another resident, praised Ogundare's performance, saying, "I grew up in Eti-Osa local government knowing that Eti-Osa is the least developed area within our four LCDAs, but since Ogundare came in, there have been lots of development."

Desmond Elliot assured the protesters that their concerns would be addressed during the plenary session, emphasizing the Assembly's commitment to listening to all parties involved.
