Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Governor of Lagos State, has provided cash and tools to 350 beneficiaries from 57 councils as part of the Community Sensitisation and Empowerment Initiative sponsored by her office. This initiative reflects her commitment to empowering communities and improving livelihoods.
The governor's wife emphasized the importance of empowerment through various means, including cash, tools, and human resources. She highlighted that this gesture extends to people of all ages, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to community development.
She also mentioned the office's efforts in skill training, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and educational support, indicating the wide-ranging impact of their initiatives. Additionally, she listed various interventions aimed at addressing issues such as Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), healthcare, social welfare for orphanages, educational support, and initiatives for the boy-child and girl-child.
Folashade Ambrose Medebem, the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, praised Dr. Sanwo-Olu's efforts, noting that the sensitisation and empowerment initiatives are essential for driving positive change. The event included the presentation of various tools such as hairstyling kits, popcorn machines, shoe making packs, tailoring machines, and vulcanising machines, highlighting the practical support provided to beneficiaries.
