Lagos Governor to Host Justice Reform Summit for Economic Growth and Security

Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to host a Justice Reform Summit on May 27 and 28, under the theme "Enhancing The Administration of Justice For Economic Growth, Investment Protection And Security in Lagos State." The summit, to be held at Marriott Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, will see Sanwo-Olu as the Chief Host, with the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as the Chairman, and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), as the special guest of honour.

In a statement by Mrs. Titilayo ShittaBey-Jeje, Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, it was highlighted that Lagos State has been a trailblazer in justice reform, with several landmark achievements. However, as the economic hub of Nigeria, new challenges have emerged that require attention.

The summit aims to address these challenges and explore diverse perspectives towards effective and efficient administration of justice for economic growth and investment protection in Lagos State and Nigeria at large. The ministry has invited stakeholders and the public to contribute their views, observations, and recommendations for the reform process.
