Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Giwa Moore as the new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on the Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB). The board oversees five technical colleges and other vocational centers across all local government areas in the state.
Moore's appointment is in line with Governor Sanwo-Olu's vision to promote technical and vocational education, not just for early technical awareness, but also to provide a foundation for further learning, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
In a statement, it was highlighted that Moore's extensive network has facilitated greater support and initiatives for students and youths, enhancing the state's access to valuable skills and resources to tackle development challenges effectively.
Moore, a graduate of Political Science from the University of Abuja, has received several awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions. He is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis from the same university.
Aside from managing and monitoring technical colleges in the formal education sector, LASTVEB is also working towards formalizing the informal sector by training and developing artisans and craftsmen, who are key players in the informal economy.
