The Lagos State University (LASU) has officially admitted 12,873 new students for the 2023/2024 academic session, promising to prioritize their welfare. Vice-Chancellor Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello made this pledge at the matriculation ceremony held on the main campus in Ojo, Lagos, on February 28. She also vowed to maintain a conducive and competitive learning environment.
Addressing the new students, the VC highlighted the privilege of gaining admission to LASU while warning against cultism, examination malpractice, corruption, hooliganism, and other vices, noting that disciplinary actions would be taken against offenders.
The Vice-Chancellor, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Adenike Boyo, urged students to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. She emphasized the university's commitment to providing a disciplined and focused atmosphere for learning, encouraging students to attend lectures regularly, complete assignments, and avoid deviant behavior.
