Lagos State Police have arrested Peter Dike for allegedly stabbing his wife to death during a violent domestic dispute at their apartment in the Oke Ira Ilogbo Eremi community, Morogbo, on Wednesday.
The tragic incident unfolded when an argument between Dike and his 38-year-old wife escalated into a physical altercation. In the heat of the confrontation, Dike reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed his wife in multiple areas of her body.
Eyewitnesses described the severity of the attack, with the woman left in a pool of blood, writhing in pain before succumbing to her injuries. Shockingly, Dike remained by her lifeless body until law enforcement arrived.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that officers on patrol quickly responded to the alert and arrested Dike. A bloodstained kitchen knife was recovered from the scene, and Dike confessed to the crime.
The victim’s remains were taken to the General Hospital morgue in Badagry, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
