A tragic attack occurred on Sunday night in Zike and Kimakpa communities, located in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State. The incident, which took place around 8:00 pm, resulted in the deaths of at least 47 individuals, with many others injured.
This devastating attack comes just over a week after a similar one in Bokkos Local Government Area, which claimed 52 lives and destroyed millions of naira worth of property. Danjuma Dickson Auta, the National Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association, confirmed the deaths and expressed deep concern over the persistent violence in the region.
The Plateau State Police Command has yet to respond to the incident, and no official statement has been issued regarding the attack. However, the Plateau State Government has voiced concerns about the alleged occupation of local communities by armed groups, which has been exacerbating tensions and contributing to violence in the region.
