At least 19 children have reportedly died from suspected measles complications in Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The State's Commissioner for Health, Mr. Felix Tangwami, disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that over 200 children in the area have been infected.

The outbreak was detected in Yola, prompting swift action with the deployment of medical personnel and medications to affected communities. Commissioner Tangwami assured that children with severe infections would be promptly referred to hospitals for treatment.

The medical team is also set to address another outbreak reported in Gombi Local Government Area. Tangwami attributed the outbreak to the refusal of some parents to immunize their children, underscoring the importance of vaccination in preventing such tragedies.
