The stage is set for ministers to present their scorecards on the delivery of ministries on the eight priority areas of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination/Head of Central Coordination Delivery Unit (CDCU), Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman, hinted at this development in Abuja.
Ministers have been informed by the President that they will undergo compulsory quarterly assessments to rate their performances in line with the identified priority areas. Tinubu’s administration has also introduced a Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App to monitor the performance of ministers and their portfolios, allowing Nigerians to provide feedback on government policies, programs, and projects.
The implementation of constituency projects allocated to senators and House of Representatives members will also be assessed. Ms. Bala-Usman emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to an open and transparent government, stating that all ministries are mandated to hold quarterly sectorial engagement sessions with citizens.
Tinubu’s new strategy, dubbed "Citizen-centric approach to governance," involves evaluating ministers based on eight priorities, including reforming the economy, strengthening national security, boosting agriculture, and improving governance. The CDCU will use specific deliverables and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) signed by ministers and permanent secretaries to assess their performance and present quarterly assessments and annual scorecards to the President.
