Naked Protester Joins Nationwide Demonstrations in Lagos

Lagos

Amid nationwide protests against economic hardship in Nigeria, an unnamed man made a bold statement by going naked in Lagos on Thursday. A viral video shows the man walking through Ojota, chanting “Solidarity forever” with other demonstrators. The protests, part of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement, began on August 1, 2024, to highlight the citizens' struggles.

Defying a court order restricting them to certain areas, protesters in Lagos took to the streets, including the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, to voice their grievances. Our correspondent observed widespread participation despite the restrictions.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, assured the public of safety and security. He stated on X.com that Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, visited protest sites and found the demonstrations peaceful. Non-protesting residents continued their activities without disturbance.

Hundeyin emphasized that the police are monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of all citizens, affirming that the area remains calm amidst the protests.
