The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has lodged a complaint with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding the alleged misappropriation of over N20 billion in intervention funds earmarked for the Cement Technology Institute of Nigeria (CTIN). In a petition presented by NAPS President, Comrade Muniru Opeyemi, to the EFCC and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, the students called for a thorough investigation into the diversion of funds meant for student training and CTIN's development. They also urged the immediate dissolution of the Institute's board.

The petition, titled "Petition on allegation of Diversion of 20BN Cement Technology Institute of Nigeria CTIN Intervention Fund," emphasized the students' demand for accountability and justice. It highlighted the alleged mismanagement and diversion of the intervention fund, which was intended for the development of cement technology. The students expressed disappointment in the leadership of CTIN for what they perceived as negligence and fraudulent behavior, noting that the fund should benefit technical students in Nigerian polytechnics.

NAPS further stated that the incumbent Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has shown a commitment to transforming education and improving the welfare of Nigerian students. However, they lamented the actions of corporate bodies like CTIN, which they accused of withholding the N20 billion fund meant for technical training and youth development in the cement industry. The association called for immediate action by the EFCC to investigate CTIN and ensure accountability for the alleged mismanagement of funds.

In conclusion, NAPS, representing the voice of Nigerian youth, expressed deep concern over the mismanagement and lack of accountability within CTIN. They demanded justice for what they deemed as sabotage against the nation's future and called on concerned Nigerians to join them in protesting against such actions.
