National Counter Terrorism Center Hands Over Rescued Kidnap Victims to National Security Adviser

The National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) has officially handed over Maharazu Tsiga, the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and 18 other rescued kidnap victims to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

The handover ceremony, which took place on Thursday in Abuja, marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other security threats in the country.

Tsiga was kidnapped, along with others, on February 5, 2025, from his hometown in Tisga, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State. He was released on Wednesday, after spending 56 days in captivity.

During the handover, Ribadu expressed his gratitude to the security forces and intelligence agencies involved in the successful rescue operation. He praised their dedication and efforts, which led to the safe release of Tsiga and the other victims.

Ribadu also reiterated the federal government’s commitment to improving national security, emphasizing that the safety of citizens remains a top priority.
