The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other stakeholders received 103 Nigerians deported from Turkiye at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday at 7 PM. The deportees arrived via a Southwind Airlines flight and were welcomed by Federal Government officials led by NEMA.
Addressing the returnees, NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by Alhaji Bashir Garga, urged them to accept their experiences in good faith and remain law-abiding. She reassured them of the government’s concern for their welfare and provided financial support for transportation.

After health screening and profiling by NEMA and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the returnees were cleared by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and received assistance to travel to their various destinations.
Other stakeholders present included officials from the NIS, NCRMID, NAPTIP, FAAN, Nigerian Police Force, NSCDC, NDLEA, Port Health Authority, and the National Intelligence Agency, all collaborating to ensure a smooth reintegration process.
