New Customs Controller at MMA Vows to Boost Trade Facilitation

The newly redeployed Customs Area Controller at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Command, Comptroller Michael Awe, has pledged to enhance trade facilitation. Awe assumed office, taking over from Comptroller Yusuf Mohammed, with a promise to build on Mohammed's achievements while urging officers to maintain dedication and diligence.

Expressing appreciation for Mohammed's commitment, Awe emphasized the importance of peace in revenue generation. He assured officers of his intention to enhance existing structures and surpass previous revenue records. Awe emphasized the need for officers to understand their roles, encouraging them to study relevant materials and uphold discipline.

Under Mohammed's leadership, the command recorded a revenue of N45.23 billion from importers at the airports between January and March. Mohammed highlighted the command's 2023 achievement of generating N90.43 billion through the hard work and diligence of its officers. He called for support for Awe to enable him to exceed set targets.
