The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has announced that Nigeria is set to showcase 105 groundbreaking innovations in London, with the aim of attracting foreign investment and offering solutions to some of the world’s pressing challenges.
Speaking at a world press conference on Thursday in Abuja, ahead of the Grand Finale of the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025, the Director-General of NBTI, Dr. Kazeem Raji, said the event marks a new chapter for Nigeria’s innovation drive.
According to him, on October 9, in London, the innovators—selected from over 3,000 entries nationwide—will gather at the Hilton London Paddington to pitch their solutions in areas such as HealthTech, AgriTech, FinTech, Clean Energy, and Artificial Intelligence before global investors, policymakers, and development partners.
Some of the innovations include:

Bra-X: a smart wearable bra for early detection of breast cancer.

A ventilator that can support six patients at once.

AI-controlled drones for precision farming and pest control.

Affordable clean energy solutions for underserved communities.

Next-gen FinTech applications to promote financial inclusion.
Raji explained that London was chosen as the venue because of its reputation as a global hub for capital and innovation, providing a direct link to international venture capitalists, diaspora investors, and European industry leaders.
He further highlighted some of the key features of the grand finale, which include:

Pitch sessions from the 105 innovators.

Showcasing major consortium projects, such as Interface Africa, Ogoni Land Renewal, and the $1 billion Innovate Africa Israel/BIPVco Solar Project.

The launch of selected coastal areas of Lagos as the world’s safest “Innovation & Leisure Destination.”

Global spotlight sessions featuring SpinLab (Germany), Innovate UK, Zumah FinTech Panel, and the Commonwealth Roundtable.
Notable dignitaries expected at the event include Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Mr. Uche Nnaji; CEO of Tesla Group Europe, Dr. Shambhu Pokharel; and Mr. Victor Kitange, Economic Adviser of the Commonwealth Group, among others.
Raji also commended stakeholders such as Allen Onyema (Air Peace Nigeria), Nigerian state governors, UKALD, the National Assembly, and the media for their support in making the project a reality.
As part of the initiative, NBTI will unveil the NBTI Global App, a digital platform designed to link Nigerian innovations with global investors, diaspora markets, and African entrepreneurs.

“Let the world take notice,” Raji declared. “Nigeria has arrived—not as a consumer of technology, but as a global leader in innovation. The NextGen Innovation Challenge represents Nigeria’s innovation renaissance, and we will not stop until our youth have a seat at every global innovation table.”
The press conference was attended by officials from the National Directorate of Employment, the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, the National Assembly, and other stakeholders.
