Nigerian airports did not feature in the top 10 list of best airports in Africa as Cape Town International Airport in South Africa was named the Best African Airport in 2024 by Skytrax, a UK-based airline and airport rating and ranking website. The announcement was made during the 25th anniversary of the World Airport Awards in Frankfurt, Germany.
The rankings, based on a survey conducted from August 2023 to March 2024, involved participation from over 100 customer nationalities. Cape Town International Airport emerged as the top choice, showcasing its excellence in customer satisfaction and airport services.
Other airports that made it to the top 10 list in Africa include Durban King Shaka, Johannesburg, Casablanca, Mauritius, Marrakech, Addis Ababa, Kigali, Cairo, and Nairobi. These airports were recognized for their outstanding facilities, services, and overall passenger experience.
The absence of Nigerian airports in the top 10 list highlights the need for further improvements in Nigerian airports to enhance their competitiveness and meet international standards.
