Nigerian Armed Forces Train Over 700 Personnel for Post-Service Life

The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Oshodi has successfully trained over 700 retiring military personnel in various vocational skills over a six-month period. The cohort included 534 personnel from the Nigerian Army, 165 from the Nigerian Navy, and 26 from the Nigerian Airforce.

At the Passing Out of NAFRC Trainees Course 01/2024, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, praised the retirees for their determination, commitment, and discipline. He emphasized that the Trainees’ Pre-Retirement Course equips retiring personnel with essential skills for a smooth transition to civilian life after their dedicated service to the nation.

Ogalla, the Special Guest of Honour, expressed optimism about the trainees' post-service life, urging them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their military careers. He reminded them of the importance of maintaining high moral standards and discipline, which the society will expect from them as former members of the Armed Forces.

Highlighting the challenges of post-service life, Ogalla advised the retirees to manage their resources, including retirement benefits, wisely. He also underscored the importance of managing mental and physical health and integrating effectively into civilian society, encouraging them to excel and positively influence their communities for the country's benefit.
