Nigeria’s motorsport scene has hit a new milestone after Jamus Bashar Muhammad, better known as Jaybash, clinched victory at the East Africa Drift Championship in Kenya.
Representing Nigeria at the continental event, Jaybash put on an outstanding performance, taking First Place in the Pro Masters category, First Overall in the entire championship, and earning the title of Nigerian Drift King.
In a statement released on Monday, the National Sports Commission described his win as “a giant leap forward for motorsport in Nigeria,” noting that it reflects the rising impact of Nigerian athletes across different sports.
“The National Sports Commission congratulates Jaybash and celebrates this milestone that inspires the next generation of Nigerian drivers. This achievement strengthens our commitment to supporting diverse sports under the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s Sports Economy,” the statement read.
