Legendary Nigerian singer and actress Onyeka Onwenu has reportedly died at the age of 72. Onwenu collapsed on Tuesday night while attending Mrs. Stella Okoli’s birthday party and was rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos.
Eyewitnesses at the party confirmed that Onwenu had just performed before she slumped and was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The family has yet to officially announce her passing.
Onyeka Onwenu, known as the "Elegant Stallion," was celebrated for her music albums such as "In The Morning Light" and "Dancing In The Sun." She also starred in acclaimed films like "Half of a Yellow Sun" and "Lionheart."
