Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has firmly rejected intimidation following his appearance at the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) headquarters in Abuja. On Thursday, Ajaero was questioned by the police over allegations of terrorism financing, cybercrime, and other serious charges but left the office after addressing these claims.

Accompanied by human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and activist Deji Adeyanju, Ajaero described the allegations as baseless. He reassured the public of the NLC's commitment to defending workers' rights and stated that the union will not be swayed by such pressures.

Reflecting on his experiences, Ajaero emphasized the ongoing struggles faced by labor leaders and reiterated the NLC’s resolve to fight for the implementation of the minimum wage and other workers' welfare issues. He remained confident and dismissive of the claims, viewing them as attempts to weaken the labor movement.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Ajaero's confident stance underscores the NLC’s determination to continue advocating for workers’ rights and welfare, undeterred by these challenges.
