NNPC Foundation Donates Advanced MRI Machine to Orthopaedic Hospital in Kano

The NNPC Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of NNPC Limited, has donated and commissioned a state-of-the-art 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, Kano State.

The newly installed MRI system is expected to significantly improve the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic, neurological, trauma, musculoskeletal and gynaecological conditions, while reducing the burden on patients who previously had to travel long distances to access advanced imaging services.

Before the intervention, many patients faced long waiting periods, limited access to MRI facilities and high costs associated with obtaining specialised diagnostic services.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony in Kano, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, represented by the Managing Director of NNPC Foundation, Mrs Emmanuella Arukwe, said the donation reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting healthcare development across the country.

She noted that NNPC Foundation remains focused on delivering sustainable and impactful social investments that improve the lives of Nigerians and strengthen key sectors such as healthcare.

According to her, the intervention comes at a critical time when healthcare facilities across the country are dealing with infrastructure challenges, equipment shortages and increasing demand for specialised medical services.

Also speaking, the Executive Vice President of Business Services at NNPC Limited, represented by the Executive Director of Programme Management at NNPC Foundation, Mrs Rose Okonkwo, said the company’s commitment goes beyond oil and gas operations to making meaningful contributions to national development.

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, commended the foundation for the donation, describing it as a major boost to healthcare services in the state.
