Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Nigeria’s North Central region have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement came during a strategic meeting held on Wednesday night, May 21, 2025, in Abuja, attended by five APC governors from the zone, National Assembly members, ministers, and other key stakeholders.
Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), moved the motion for the endorsement, praising the President's “sterling performance” and declaring that the North Central APC is solidly behind Tinubu's leadership and reform agenda.
“We have watched with total satisfaction and admiration the performance of the APC-led government of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We hereby endorse him for another four-year term to continue his good works,” Akume declared.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, who read the communiqué, emphasized that the President has shown exceptional courage, vision, and commitment in navigating the country through tough economic and political challenges.
“We unanimously pass a vote of confidence on his administration and endorse President Tinubu to contest for a second term in 2027,” Sule stated. “The Renewed Hope Agenda is already transforming our region with projects in infrastructure, education, rural electrification, and agriculture.”
The leaders commended Tinubu’s inclusion of North Central sons and daughters in key government roles and highlighted the establishment of the North Central Development Commission as a major win for the region.
Kwara State Governor and NGF Chairman, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, recalled the region’s earlier appeal for the commission, expressing gratitude that President Tinubu had responded swiftly.
“Our request for a North Central Development Commission has been granted. This is a big win, and we are thankful,” Abdulrazaq said. He also praised the President’s national forest guard initiative as a landmark security policy that empowers local communities.
APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who was also in attendance, commended the party’s internal cohesion and noted that members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and state chairmen have been appointed as board chairmen, reflecting inclusiveness and party loyalty.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by North Central APC leaders to strengthen party structures, support President Tinubu’s reform policies, and ensure electoral success beyond 2027.
