The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State command, has deployed 951 personnel to safeguard critical national assets and worship centres across the state during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration. This deployment is part of efforts to tighten security and prevent criminal activities during the festive period.

In a statement issued by the state commandant, Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC is focused on enhancing security measures to ensure a peaceful celebration. Olatunde emphasized the deployment of tactical and intelligence assets across the 21 local government areas of the state to preempt any potential threats.

He urged residents to be vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to maintain peace and order. Olatunde also warned against any actions that could disrupt the peace, stating that measures are in place to deal with criminal elements seeking to cause unrest.

As Muslims in the state mark the end of Ramadan, Olatunde called for unity and respect among individuals and groups. He encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.

The NSCDC's proactive approach aims to provide a secure environment for residents to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr peacefully while deterring criminal elements from taking advantage of the festivities.
