The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, has announced plans to facilitate soft loans for corps members in collaboration with various stakeholders. This initiative aims to promote self-reliance among corps members and empower them financially.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream ‘2’ orientation course in Kaduna, Ahmed highlighted the importance of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program in ensuring the financial independence of corps members after their service year. He urged corps members to continue with the post-camp SAED program to enhance their skills further.

Ahmed also emphasized the need for corps members to settle quickly in their places of primary assignments, respect the traditions and values of their host communities, and avoid unnecessary journeys, especially at night, to ensure their safety.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State commended the camp officials for their dedication and reminded corps members of their role as ambassadors of peace and progress. He urged them to positively impact the lives of their host communities, considering the state's rich diversity and cultural heritage.

The NYSC Coordinator in Kaduna State, Mr. Hassan Taura, encouraged corps members to identify the needs of their host communities and embark on Community Development Service (CDS) projects. He advised them to participate in the SAED post-camp training to acquire skills that would empower them to be self-reliant.

Taura thanked the Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders for their support of the NYSC scheme in the state.
