Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has clarified that the release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, was not part of his recent discussions with South-East governors in Enugu. Obasanjo, alongside Chief Emeka Anyaoku, met with the governors to discuss regional development issues, focusing on security, infrastructure, and economic collaboration.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo emphasized that the meeting did not include discussions on Kanu's release. He stated, "The issue of Nnamdi Kanu was not on the agenda and was not discussed in my presence."
