Ten governorship aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have been instructed to submit their credentials for vetting ahead of the primary election. This directive, issued by the party's legal directorate, is in preparation for the April 20 gubernatorial primary in the state.
According to a letter from the party's National Legal Adviser, Professor Kana, titled 'Ondo State Gubernatorial Primary 2024: Notice of Submission of Credentials/Documents for Vetting to the Legal Department of the All Progressives Congress by all Aspirants,' all aspirants are required to submit their credentials for thorough vetting.
The vetting process, scheduled from April 5 to 10, 2024, will allow the Vetting Committee to conduct due diligence on all submitted documents before reporting to the Screening Committee. In light of this, the party has urged aspirants to refrain from making statements that could incite tension.
Alex Kalejaye, the APC publicity secretary, emphasized the party's commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process and urged aspirants to maintain decorum to allow for the emergence of the most popular candidate as the party's flagbearer.
