Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has reached out to his 15 co-contestants from the recent governorship primary election, extending an olive branch for unity. After being declared the winner by the chairman of the primary election committee and Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, Aiyedatiwa urged his fellow candidates to join forces with him in building the state. He emerged victorious in 16 out of the 18 council areas, securing 48,569 votes.
In his acceptance speech titled "A Time to Win Together," Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of unity within the party, especially after a contested election. He thanked all the aspirants for their participation, acknowledging the awareness and mobilization they brought to the party. He highlighted the need for collaboration to ensure the party's success and urged everyone to work towards maintaining power.
Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to party leaders, including President Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Chairman Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, and others, for their leadership and support. He also thanked traditional rulers, civil servants, and all stakeholders who endorsed him as their candidate. He accepted the responsibility conferred on him by the voters and called for unity in building a brighter future for Ondo State.
