"Idanre should be a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) site. May God forgive the APC government. Show them you are angry with your votes," Olafeso stated.
The PDP’s deputy governorship candidate, Festus Akingbaso, who represents the Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, called on the people to avoid violence during the election period. He encouraged the campaign council to engage in door-to-door outreach to win over voters, reassuring them that despite the financial advantages of the APC, the PDP has the support of the people and God.
"APC is threatening us that we are not as financially buoyant as them. But we have God. When they give you money, take their money and vote for PDP," Akingbaso advised.
Agboola Ajayi, the PDP governorship candidate, also addressed the gathering, expressing condolences to the people over the passing of their king, Oba Fredrick Aroloye. He criticized the APC for the hardship faced by Nigerians, urging the people of Idanre to make a decisive choice for change.
Idanre PDP Chairman, Adekunle Akinlalu, expressed optimism about the party's chances of victory, particularly with the selection of Akingbaso as the deputy governorship candidate.
