The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Ondo state, initially scheduled to conclude on Saturday, April 20, will now be finalized today. The announcement of the election results, slated to commence at 7am today, was delayed.
The primary election took place in 203 wards across the state, but incidents of violence were reported in several wards in Akure, Okitipupa, and Ilaje. Aspirants raised concerns over the unavailability of election materials.
A member of the Primary Election Committee, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that the election was inconclusive in some areas of Okitipupa and other parts of the state. The final collation of results is expected to commence after the completion of the elections.
Journalists spent several hours at the Dome International Event Center, the designated venue for the collation and announcement of results.
