In a significant breakthrough, one of the three abducted school children from the same family in Amaoba-Ime Oboro, Ikwuano Local Government Area, has been rescued and reunited with his family. The Mayor of Ikwuano, Comrade Osinachi Nwaka, announced in a statement on Wednesday that Master Divine Osinachi, a six-year-old who went missing on May 10 along with his two siblings, was found on May 21 in Ekwulobia, Anambra State.

The rescue operation was a coordinated effort involving officers from the Abia State Police Command, Homeland Security, and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). The children, Gideon Osinachi (8), Divine Osinachi (6), and Israel Osinachi (4), were abducted while returning home from school. Their grandmother had placed them on a commercial motorcycle (okada), which then disappeared with the children.

Mayor Nwaka expressed gratitude for the efforts that led to the rescue of Divine and assured the public that the search for the remaining children, Gideon and Israel, is ongoing. He stated, "We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to bring all our children back safely. The safety and well-being of our children remain our utmost priority of the Dr Alex Otti-led administration."

He also urged the public to be cautious and verify any information before sharing it on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation. Additionally, he called on anyone with information that might assist in the ongoing search to contact the nearest police station or use the designated emergency numbers.
