Victor Osimhen has successfully undergone surgery following an injury sustained during UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash between Galatasaray and Liverpool.
The injury occurred during the second-leg encounter at Anfield, when Osimhen collided in the air with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté. Despite picking up the knock, the Nigerian striker showed determination by continuing briefly with a bandaged arm before being substituted at halftime due to worsening pain and swelling.
Galatasaray went on to suffer a 4-0 defeat on the night, crashing out of the competition with a 4-1 aggregate loss.
Confirming the development, the club announced that Osimhen underwent a successful operation at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, performed by the club’s medical team. They also wished him a speedy recovery and a quick return to action.
