The outage initially scheduled for two months has been suspended indefinitely, according to BEDC Electricity Plc (BEDC). Evelyn Gbiwen, Head of Branding and Corporate Communications at BEDC, announced the update in a statement on Tuesday in Benin.

Gbiwen stated that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has suspended the planned outage on the Osogbo/Akure and Ado-Ekiti 132KV lines, which was originally set to occur from July 1 to August 31. "Our services will therefore continue without interruption," she assured.

BEDC had previously informed customers in Ondo and Ekiti about the TCN's maintenance work on the 132KV Osogbo-Akure transmission line, which would involve installing optical ground wire and other activities necessitating an outage for safety.

Despite the suspension, Gbiwen emphasized BEDC's commitment to better serving its customers and maintaining uninterrupted service.
