Plateau State Government Praises Peaceful Protests and Civic Responsibility

The Plateau State Government has commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of recent protesters in the state. Hon. Musa Ashom, Plateau Commissioner for Information and Communication, highlighted the disciplined manner in which the demonstrations were carried out in a statement on Saturday in Jos.

Ashom noted that the protests marked a refreshing departure from the usual chaos and destruction associated with such events. "It is commendable to witness citizens exercising their constitutional right to protest while maintaining a high level of discipline and respect for public property," he said.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has acknowledged the right of citizens to express their grievances peacefully and praised the protesters for their non-violent approach. The decision of the protesters to clean up the streets post-demonstrations was particularly lauded as a sign of civic consciousness and community love.

Ashom also expressed gratitude to the security agencies for their professionalism in handling the protests, emphasizing their crucial role in maintaining peace and order.
