Police Arrest Father and Son for Allegedly Beating Ponmo Seller to Death

A father and son, identified as Chizoke Obiadada, 54, and Micheal Obiadada, 17, have been arrested by the police for allegedly beating a ponmo seller, Tope Owoade, 43, to death. The incident reportedly occurred following an altercation between the woman and her neighbors, who were sitting on a table she used for selling ponmo. When she tried to stop them, a fight broke out, and the Obiadadas allegedly attacked her, resulting in severe injuries.

Tope Owoade died hours later due to profuse bleeding from her womb and private parts. The husband of the deceased, Mr. Isiaka Owoade, reported the incident to the police the following day. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Omolola Odutola, the incident happened on March 28, and the report was made on March 29.

In his report, Mr. Isiaka Owoade stated that upon his return from a journey, his wife informed him about the attack. She had cautioned the Obiadadas against sitting on her work table, which led to the fatal beating. Despite being rushed to two hospitals, Main Frame private hospital and Kunle Hospital Atan Agowa, she was rejected and eventually passed away while being taken to a government hospital. The Divisional Police Officer promptly arrested the culprits, who are now undergoing preliminary investigations.
