The Kwara State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against violent crime with the arrest of suspected armed robbers and cult members operating around the Amoyo area of Ilorin.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the arrests followed a report of an armed robbery incident on April 19, 2026, at Kabba Kajola Junction.
According to her, swift intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of two suspects, Abdulazeez Isiaq, popularly known as “Pumpin,” and Rilwan Mohammed, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect who is still at large.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly attacked their victims, forced them into an uncompleted building used as a hideout, and threatened to kill them before stealing valuables, including an iPhone 13, a Samsung A2S, and other personal belongings.
