The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two additional suspects linked to the abduction of Mrs. A. Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu. The suspects, Agbojule Smart (27) and Keleke Michael (30), were arrested by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad on Friday morning while attempting to flee Lagos.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that the suspects confessed to being part of a four-member gang, two of whom were neutralized earlier during Mrs. Odumosu’s rescue operation. Items recovered from the suspects include N2.25 million, believed to be part of the ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.
Mrs. Odumosu was abducted on January 16 by masked gunmen at her residence in Arepo, Lagos. Following a coordinated operation, she was rescued from a forest in Ikorodu, where police engaged in a gunfight, killing two suspects and recovering N10 million, firearms, and ammunition.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the operatives for their bravery and reaffirmed the police's commitment to ensuring public safety. He assured Nigerians of the Force's resolve to reduce crime and foster peace nationwide.
