Police Confirm Abduction of Eight in Akwa Ibom, Including Naval Rating

The Police in Akwa Ibom have confirmed the abduction of eight individuals, including a Naval Rating, in Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area. The kidnapping occurred on Monday night at Classic Point Hotel, Ibaka, and the victims' whereabouts remain unknown at the time of this report.

Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom Command, Timfon John, confirmed the incident, stating, "When the police got the information, Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, led a team of security personnel to the community. I can assure you that with that visit by the CP and other strategic approaches, normalcy will return."

The Naval authorities in Akwa Ibom have not yet commented on the abduction. This incident follows the recent kidnapping of a bus driver and 18 passengers traveling from Uyo to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, whose whereabouts are also currently unknown.
