Police operatives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, attached to the Utako Divisional Headquarters, have apprehended a 33-year-old man, Attah Godwin, from Kogi State, in connection with a robbery incident involving a 27-year-old man, Ogo Chukwuemeka, from Kuchigoro, Abuja. The suspect allegedly attacked the victim at Berger Mosque, Utako, as he was boarding a vehicle to Kuchigoro. Godwin reportedly stabbed Chukwuemeka on the chest and shoulder with a knife, and robbed him of his phones and other belongings.
Acting swiftly upon receiving the information, the police, in collaboration with locals, pursued the suspect and managed to apprehend him. They also recovered the stolen items. The victim was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday. She reiterated the commitment of the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh psc, mni, to ensuring the safety and security of residents in the FCT. Adeh urged residents to report any suspicious activities through the provided emergency contact numbers.
